Composition:
Each softgel capsule contain:
Omega-3 fatty Acid…223mg
Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA)…23mg
Docosahexaenoic Aicd (DHA)…200mg
Indications:
For the treatment of omega-3 deficiency.
Omega-3 consumption during pregnancy either in diet or via supplement is associated with improved
neurodevelopmental outcomes in the child.
Also supports healthy muscle, healthy bones and is a complete multivitamin for good health..
Directions for use and dose:
Take this medication by mouth, usually once daily or as directed by the physician. All omega-3 fatty acids are absorbed more efficiently with meals.
Shelf life:
The expiry date is indicated on the blister and carton.
Dosage:
Take one capsule daily with food.
Warnings/ precautions:
Optimal fetal neurodevelopment is dependent on many essential nutrients including DHA and EPA which are obtained from dietary sources. Low intake of omega-3 during pregnancy correlates with higher levels of depressive symptoms.
A high ratio of omega-3 fatty acids will result in increased proinflammatory ecosanoid production that may lead to preterm labor.
Drug interactions:
This product can decrease the absorption of other drugs such as bisphosphonates (for example, alendronate), levodopa, penicillamine, quinolone and tetracycline antibiotics and thyroid medications. Separate your doses of these medications as far as possible from your doses of this product.
This medication may interfere with certain lab tests, possibly causing false test results. If your brand of multivitamin also contains folic acid, be sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take certain anti-seizure drugs (e.g. phenytoin).
Side effects:
Constipation, diarrhea, or upset stomach may occur. These effects are temporary if persist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. People with diabetes mellitus must inform their physician and be monitored after intake. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. Get medical help if you notice allergic reaction including rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
